How Factory Surplus Got Started
Factory Surplus opened its first store in Grandview, Missouri in 2013 with one mission: bring factory-direct flooring prices to Kansas City DIYers, home flippers, and budget-conscious homeowners. While the big box chains were selling B-grade product at premium prices, Factory Surplus took a different approach — hunt factory closeouts, overstock, and discontinued lines directly from manufacturers, then pass the savings to the customer.
Thirteen years later, Factory Surplus has grown to 3 Kansas City locations — Grandview (MO), North Kansas City (MO), and Spring Hill (KS) — with over 1,000,000 square feet of flooring in stock on any given day. We're not a showroom that special-orders from a sample book; we're a working warehouse where what you see is what you take home.
